driver, LBL is not a wma. http://www.lbl.org/SmallGameGuide.html"Coyote, Feral Hogs, Armadillos: may be taken during daylight hours in any open hunting season with weapons specified for that season. Hand, mouth, or electronic calling devices are permitted. During February, center-fire rifles and handguns, and shotguns with shot size T or smaller may be used. Hog hunting with dogs is prohibited."
RUGER, thanks but I am referring to what Mid said about WMA’s not the part about LBL. “most of all of the WMA's around the middle tennessee area are regulated to rimfire and shoutguns up to "4" shot size...”
I see on page 4 of the Tennessee Hunting & Trapping under “What’s New for 2012-2013” Clarified regulations regarding weapon restrictions especially as it pertains to small game and coyote hunting (see page 14 and website for complete details).
I just sent Cheatham WMA manager an email asking him what is correct for after deer season.
Sorry for the confusion.

LBL is Federal land and the rules are a little different. And the coyote hunt that takes place the first weekend of Feb. hasn't gotten smaller its gotten bigger. I have attended a good number of them and can assure you its gotten bigger. Great group of guys to hang out with tho.

Driver ,
Are ther a lot of yotes in cheatham ? Never been out there before. It would be a lot closer drive than LBL.

I don't know if there are a lot but I have killed a couple and seen several others over the last couple of years. I see a lot of scan on the roads and trails.
Side note: Ft Campbell has a lot but you can only use a rimfire or shotgun and you have to go through there call in system.

One thing, those coyotes are some of the most educated coyotes you will ever find.
For years people have been driving the back roads with their electric callers stuck out the window. They will call and call then move on and do this all day long. They can easy cover 50m miles of back roads and never get out of the truck. This is NOT a legal way of hunting at all but people still do it. it has pissed me off every time I've seen it and I've reported it.
I learned to use a different call that no other predator hunter uses that I know about and I've been able to bring them in.

Ft Campbell does have a lot of dogs but no call in required, they must have coyote specific areas open to use e callers and decoys. Must have hunter ed and state hunting license and the ft Campbell permit.

Thanks. This will be my first year. Trying to figure out a place to go. Think LBL sounds like the best starting point.
