I use 168gr winchester supreme ballistic tip thru a .308 prohunter. It a little pricy but I have killed a bunch with and they always drop in tracks.

Dont recommend the winchester if your wanting all the meat. Most of the time its fine as long as you shoot double lung.

I do and I hunt with Hornady SST and GMX rounds.. There 168 grain shells with the accutip. I chose these rounds after doing much research on them and wanted a bullet that didn't blow apart or separate. I personally wanted a bullet that would stay together after opening up and would punch thru with an exit wound. I used the Winchester rounds and had problems with the bullets seperating and no exit wounds...

168 gr Federal Match BTHP. The same rounds I use in my sniper rifle at work. Expensive but I convinced work that I practice with my deer rifle so it doesn't cost me a thing.

I do and use 180gr Remington Corelok but thinking about dropping down to 160gr due to the deer having smaller bodies here in TN. But I've never had an issue with it.

I did not know there was any other calibre. Winchester 150gr silvertips. All I have used for everything from elk on down. Best I can recall, Ihave killed six elk with that round, one at 307-yards.

I've taken 2 deers with my .308 remington, all with handloads. Last years was with the Hornady 165 Interlock. Both of the ones this year were with the 165 SST.
Both worked great. Last years ran about 50 yards (through both lungs and they were jelly). Both this year dropped where they stood (1 into the neck, heart and lung, the other through the shoulder into the brachial plexus).
