Griz...i always wear a climbing belt to hang lock ons. This one has a chain that hooks and is pretty easy to do. Then it has a T-handle screw that goes through it into the tree. I always used a ratchet as well because I don't like them moving at all.

That is how mine attached as well.... I was young and didn't use anything safety wise while putting it on the tree..... Held the chain in one hand while I held on to a step with the other.... was a balancing act for sure.... trying to get the chain around the tree and then slide it into the groove to secure. I had to stand on one step and put my other leg over a step and around the tree to keep me close to it.... while using my hands to attach the stand. Didn't use any extra straps to hold it on the tree either.... I was still learning back then.... it's a wonder I never got hurt.

The spot i was wanting this for is over a nasty nasty thicket on public land and u cant get more than about 8 or 9 feet up in the tree. The couple times ive hunted it ive carried my lone wolf in and packed it out, but theres no way im leaving it hanging on public. Being able to slip into a stand without hanging one in the dark will be a huge advantage for this spot.
