I tried one years ago, cheap, flimsy & with a tiny platform. I didn't like it after only one morning hunt and traded it off. There's more manufacturers now and I know they've improved them. What are your recommendations?

I bought a single man from sportsmans guide that's 18' tall and comfortable. Instructions sucked but I sort of expected it. My buddy has a double man stand that he got from dicks sporting goods. It has a full enclosure and is 20' I think. They were on sale the other day for $200.

In my opinion for the money and comfort that Rivers Edge is the best. I love mine

I have a Big Game also. It is comfortable but not as comfortable as my Rivers Edge. Just my opinion.

If you want the most sturdy, most roomy, and most comfortable . . . .
Get a Millennium.
They have several options 16 to 21 feet.

Best consistent deal I've seen on their basic 2-man ladder stand is per L.L. Bean, as they have about the same price as most other venders, but with free shipping. Unfortunately, Bean only offers this one model.

I was at Dick's the other day to purchase a couple on clearance. I got the basic stand with the bigger foot platform and shooting rail for $69 (and then $10 off with a coupon). They are no frills but comfortable to hunt out of.

But, they had a couple of Field and Stream models for $149 that really looked nice. The ladders were bigger and the seat/platform area looked huge.

I'll keep my eye on them to see if they come down a little more. They were the best looking ladders for under $200 that I have seen.

I've been happy with the 2 man Ameristep stands from Wal Mart...Wide ladder and 2 contact points with tree at the top..
I cut a piece of plywood to fit the seat area and mount a molded boat seat on a low swivel to the middle of it. Attach the plywood to seat with 2 ratchet straps...Hang some burlap around the shooting rail and it's comfy and concealed...Great for one person...

I had Ameristep in Wisconsin and liked them alot. The platform was bigger then just a foot rest. I could fold the seat up and actually stand and move.

But I've gone to all hang-ons now, with just me putting them up.

I have one of the 2man, it is very comfortable & yep plenty of room on the platform.
