Labs work pretty good. Nothing wrong with a heeler's or cur's either. Most breeds will work if trained right. Probably the best blood trailing dog I ever saw was a daschund (wiener dog).

Best blood trailing dogs I have seen were Daschunds...my dad and his buddies all had them from the same lineage.

Dachshund. Ive had 2 of them. Make good pets and dont eat much.Easy to train.
