Im not. Been too cotton pickin busy here lately. I have unstrung the Vixen to give the limbs a rest and I must admit that I need to get it strung up and do some different kinds of practicing.
Anyone else getting the fever for shooting or been practicing ?

I would make darn sure they and you know the correct size the manufacturer recommends as well as minimum weight. Even on my low end 150 lb Vixen I shoot a 450 grain arrow. But thats just me to shoot that heavy. At least use minimum weight. Good luck

Sounds like you have the right plan for getting the job done right.
Yes mike243 it sure is rolling around fast. Be here before we know it. I got a chance to shoot some 20 yard shots today and let our oldest son shoot some as well. The old Vixen with the new LumiZone was right on the money. I believe I will let our son take his first deer this year. I hope anyway. We tried several times last year but no luck.

Hi all!! Saw this thread and got to thinking "I'm not near ready.." Still need to make some bolts up, aluminum, that and a bunch of other things so I guess I'd better get crackin!! Got a question for you PRB, if you shoot a Vixen why do you use such a heavy bolt? Just curious. Think I'm using 360 gr bolts in my Vixen. Thanks.

I like the heavier bolts because the have better pass through potential in my opinion. I dont have the link anymore where test was done on shooting through bones etc. Some like the speed better but also most all my weight is toward the front giving me a very high FOC and besides I like to go with a couple of guys advice that have years of shooting hundreds of deer when they tell me that I dont need anything faster. The weight of these bolts are also a little easier on the limbs. They are 20 inch GoldTip Laser II's with 125 grain Montec G5 and brass insert and 2 inch Blazer vanes. Its more of preference than anything. If it was speed I was after then I would have bought the ExoMax but I dont like that much pressure on any Xbow period. I hope this answered your question.

Thanks PRB. That makes sense to me. I might have to try a heavier bolt and see how they do. Thanks again.

Light bolt ?, heavy bolt ?. As long as you kill the deer I guess thats all that really matters. Your welcome and Good luck
