I have not got a pic yet, but I have a story that will last me a lifetime. I have permission to hunt some land here in Alabama and the owners son used to play baseball for me and he has been getting more into hunting now that he has graduated. He has hunted his butt of before his college classes on weekdays and hunts every weekend.

I Have been very impressed by him. We hung stands and ran cameras all summer and got some great bucks on camera. He has never killed a deer doe nor buck and he has passed on a 3 pt he named "Cletus" about 10 tiimes. Well today it came together.

We are hunting together in the morning and went to check our cameras, I told him to bring along his gun as I have made the mistake in not doing so before. We get to his cam and are talking and sit down to pull up the pics and I heard some brush move in the neighboring CRP field and jokingly said "what would we do if a buck walked up on us right now?" well.....he stands up to look and he says "it is a buck!" I thought no way so I look and sure enough not 30 yards away a buck is headed towards his property.

Five minutes later he had his first deer ever and his first scope eye lol! I was as happy as if I had shot it myself!! Very grateful that this family allows me to hunt their property and I am glad he finally got the monkey off his back, pretty sure. " Cletus" Was not going to make it by him too many more times!!!

trust me....he was wayyyyy more happy than this picture shows

Your mention of scope eye leads me to wonder if the blood on his hand is the deer's or his.

Cool story. It's amazing how things work out. Set in the woods in a tree being motionless for hours on end and not see a thing. Then walk in to check a camera for a few min and shoot a deer of a lifetime. Congrats to all involved.
