About 15 years ago I worked in the corporate HQ for Circuit City. I did not like the company. What started off 50 years earlier as a ma an pop store and become the nations largest electronics retailer. One of the managers was flouting the invincibility of the company and I pointed out: when it was a small business, mistakes leading to loss could be reabsorbed, learn from the mistake and move on. Now mistakes are institutionalized natioanlly and cost 100's millions. We are few bad decision from going out of business. Shortly thereafter the company lost 100s millions on the failed DIVX program due to improper statistical analysis before jumping head first into the program. Within 10 years, bankrupt and closed. I hated that place.
