Up at Oak Ridge. I go Saturday to scout the tower shielding area. Anyone else gonna be up in that area?

Diehard has been really helpful with info over the past while. Anyone else have any last minute tips or info they can supply me with for this area?

Again, can someone clarify the scout time? I will be going tomorrow and just grab the map at the station when I go. Since I didnt get any of that in the mail.

I will be there at daylight. I will be dropping my rifle off at the checking station so I can leave and hunt the afternoon in Morgan county without going home.

Scouting is permitted from 7am to 4pm Saturday. Since you are scouting tower shielding, they will take your permit and cell phone number at the gate, and give the permit back when you leave. They will do this on hunt days too. If you are not out by 4:00, they will come looking for you.

Jim should be at the checking station by 7, and usually stays there until around noon.

If you are Scouting Tower Shielding you must go around the WMA to get to the Checking station.
You can print out the map here http://www.ornl.gov/rmal/Current_deer_hunt_map.htm
Be sure to print and sign the info page (must have it with you)

This will keep you from having to drive so much to scout.

If you see Deer on hunt day in Tower Shielding area they will more than likely be running.
