I'm gonna say go with something for the ranges you hunt, with a lot of thump. 35 Rem, 338 Fed, 358 Win, 444, or 45-70. With the 338 Fed or .358, you can still reach out to 300 yards.

I personally would go 338 Fed if I went larger than 30 cal.
