That's a pickle for sure. I never let a company know I am considering leaving until I am out the door. Spite can make them do some ugly things, no matter how good they have been in the past.

One question. Did you get regular raises in the 5 years you have been at the same company?? If so that raise they are offering is to keep you on their team. The other company was trying to buy you off.
