I hunt in fayette also. 2 weekends ago (weekend before thanksgiving) I saw 5 bucks one morning, 4 of which were casually moving and grazing, but one (spike)was giving a doe he11 for the 100 yards I could watch them. One buck was a real dandy and would have been my biggest kill, but he went through so fast never got a shot. There were fresh scrapes everywhere.
Today was my first hunt since then and I saw 2 does early together, and a small 6 at 10AM that was nose down on a mission. Since I have missed 2 weeks of hunting I assumed they were locked up, or could be weather, I dunno. No scrapes to be found, all covered and cold. I am hunting tomorrow and then have thurs. and fr. off and all next weekend, so with any luck it will shape up.

I've been hunting the Bomprezzi Unit of Eagle Lake Refuge north of Memphis. In 20 or so hunts, I've only seen a couple of small rubs, one good buck, and quite a few does. All of the best movement has been in the last two weeks, in the morning as well as the evening. I saw a button buck get worked up over some does, but they ignored him... The good buck payed no attention to does at all.

My dad hunted Shelby County a few days ago and saw a decent buck up and moving mid-morning, so that's a good sign that things are picking up. A good 10 pt was in the back of another guy's truck at a gas station near 385 and hwy 64.
I'm counting on this cooler weather to push things a bit more and make them less nocturnal. I'll be hunting the Fayette/Hardeman line area Tuesday morning, and Shelby on Thursday hopefully.

I posted this on another thread to, but this was my latest findings...
I had a plotwatcher cam out in a food plot in tipton county for 2 weeks that I finally got to check. It records everything all day, but only during daylight hours. It takes a picture every 5 seconds of the entire day, so I see all daylight movement through there. Its consistent with what many of us have been seeing in fayette county, good activity earlier, then like a lightswitch, nothing for days.
11/20 430PM young buck chasing does around the plot 11/21 5PM does eating right before dusk 11/22 730AM does eating, young buck joins and makes a scrape 11/23 715AM young buck checks scrape, nothing else all day 11/24 no activity 11/25 440PM does eating 11/26 - 11/29 no activity at all 11/30 5PM couple of does eating 12/1 and 12/2 no activity

Brother in law text me the other night. He went and picked up a nice 8 point in Germantown on poplar someone had hit chasing a doe. Saw another small buck dead on the side of nonconnah wenesday morning so I'm assuming the rut is on. Weird though I hunt just over the line in fayette and have yet to see any chasing
my buddy hit that small one in his tow truck i bet
