That is why I am so proud of my older boy. He teaches History as it was and not as the libs want it to be rewritten. We were fortunate that our public school here had more conservatives than any I have ever seen.

That's why my wife is homeschooling our two kids. Too much indoctrination in public AND private schools.

We are working with Tony to keep his grades up in sound topics, math facts and history with leaves little time to reverse political indoctrination or presenting opposing arguments to such debated topics such as global warming.

If they are learning about Global Warming, please take the time to present both sides of the theory and not present the topic as fact or science.

i teach widlife science, agriscience, animals science, and i am certified for physical science, biology and chemistry. unfortunately, teacher have cover state mandated spi's (student performance indicators) and objectives. we now have pacing guides that make sure that not only are these things being taught, but that they are being taught in a specific window of time. your complaint should be to the state department of education, rather than the teacher who is forced to cover the state mandated objectives. BTW, i am also a business owner, as conservative as they come, not a member of an teachers union and feel that global warming is complete BS

I'll disprove the "theory" of global warming for half that! \:D

I never could justify private school tuition for anything below high school level at this point.....and even still, some high schools are a brand new truck/year.

I'm terrified of the cost of CBHS when TAFKAP Jr. is 14.

Is global warming one of the objectives that are passed by the DOE? I know there is some crap in them and you are right the only way you fix education is to start at the top. This is the time also as we have the power to push any law through.

I suspected a mandated curriculum was behind this in some way. I've met my son's teachers and stayed in contact with them throughout his little school career and not once have I suspected them to be flaming libs.

I know more and more NCLB and state programs are mandating subject matter and methods of teaching and that is behind out choice to homeschool more than this simple incident. I discussed some of this with her during our parent teacher conference.

So much discretion has been removed from teachers. They are mostly powerless to make decisions on what or how to teach. It's all policy, procedure and protocol. As a result, they are cranking out mass produced, non-thinking drone graduates.

I just don't see a bright future for my son if I continue to trust his development to government ran schools.

This incident was just the latest example, another reminder that our decision to homeschool is the correct one.

I'm glad you don't buy into the "socialization" myth. As home schooling increased in popularity, the opponents move from one objection to the other.

First was academic quality, which was quickly disproven as homeschooled students score 80-85% percentile.

When that didn't work, the socialization myth was next. Since parents have learned that desirable social skills don't come as a result of megadoses of for ed interaction with children of their own age who don't behave desirably themselves.

Now it's the "world view" exposure, as the NEA and other progressives have recognized that the vast majority of homeschool families are conservative Christians and are producing more at a slightly above average reproductive rate. \:\) just sayin'

Sir, We only indoctrinated him a little bit

I think I'd be speaking with my son and find out if this is true - or if she flat out lied to you.

If the latter, it's time to go to the principal and the school board.

One more thing: if she DID lie to you, she effectively called your son a liar.
