Is there any generalization correlated to bucks finishing antler growth early?

Not really. Some bucks start early and finish early. Some start late and finish late.

By looking at the ends of each tine and beam. If the antlers are still growing, the tips will be slightly bulbous and the skin of the velvet very shiny. If they are done growing, the tips will look narrowed and the velvet dull like the rest of the antlers.
