I was drawn for the late MZ hunt at Laurell Hill WMA. Never hunted, did not get a chance to scout. Is it worth the 3 hour drive to get there and hunt or should I just go to my lease in Hardeman County? What do some people that have hunted there think?

Rockhound killed a good deer on the last rifle hunt they had there. There are some good deer on it but they are pretty heavily pressured by the end of the hunts. If you have a chance to scout between now and then I would consider it but I don't think I would just pull in and hunt it blind.

If you go to Laurel Hill don't worry about the points rule. Just loadem up and drive out the other side and check them in off the property. That's what a lot of other people do.

I have 2 brother in laws who hunted it this past weekend. 1 BIL killed a 4.5yr old 8 point, field dressed 165. The other BIL shot at what he says is the biggest deer he has ever shot at....he missed. They both told me that they had bucks running around them the whole time.
FWIW.

Has anybody killed any good deer off of it this year? Think I am going to go out there. Always neat to hunt something different.
