anyone done it? My idea of squirrel hunting is to walk around quietly, look and listen in the trees and blast em with a shotgun. That's when I'm not popping a BB or pellet at one from the kitchen window.

But we all know the most squirrels are seen from the deer stand, especially early in the AM.... so has anyone actually done it and sat in a treestand with a squirrel gun and tried to pop as many as possible? I would like to do it, just don't have it in me to get up at dark thirty just to shoot squirrels.

That's how I normally do it. I sit on the ground and wait, when I shoot one I mentally mark where it fell and collect them when I get up. Usually sit about a hour then move to another stand depending on how I'm doing.

Its better to sit still, but I seldom feel like it after spending so much time deer hunting, so I end up stalking around.

I used to just sit on logs or stumps or in a ladder stand. killed alot. But I don't like that anymore. I like going with dogs.

The squirrels I am see from the climber all insist on trying to jump from their tree into my lap. Just a matter of time before it happens.
I would pop some with a pellet rifle, but would have to try and remember where they fell.
