Anybody ever converted an Optima Elite to a smokeless? Doesn't seem like it would be much different than doing an Encore.

You will need a 45-70 barrel for it, send it to a guy called Slufoot(dougs message board) he will fit it with a savage breech plug and voila smokeless .45 muzzleloader.

That's the simple version.

Very simple version lol. But if you do already have an Optima Elite you can build a Smokeless ML off of a 45-70 Barrel and have a heck of a ML for not a lot of coin.

Check out the links in the 3rd post of this thread http://dougsmessageboards.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=smokeless&action=display&thread=12205

As usual, individual results may vary. Please consult a physician if you have an erection lasting more than 4 hours or if your shoulder becomes dislocated from generous amounts of H4198 \:\)

Sorry fulldraw, been out of pocket for a while. These guys summed it up. The only catch is that CVA doesn't make the 45-70 barrel anymore (at least that's my understanding), so I'd have to find one.
