Nothing quite like a good old fashioned deer camp!!

Believe it or not, out of 17 stands we have on the lease, the stand in this first pic produced more deer than any of the other 16----and it is right in the campsite.

2 decent 8 point bucks were taken from this stand, and several doe.

This is the view down "buck lane", as we call it, from the stand:

This is a sleep cabin that my buddy and I put up. It has room for two cots and a dresser between the two. Has windows and is well insulated, so it stays toasty warm inside. Cozy!

always liked deer camp when we used to do it over in Mercer....

Never had a meal quite like those cooked over a fire and those baked in the ground or dutch oven.....

Dig a hole, put taters and corn on the cob in the ground filled with coals, cover for about an hour, then enjoy!!!! Those steaks over an open fire pretty much rocked.....!!

I'm gonna look back through some of my old pics and try to scan some ......we used to have a blast....!! thanks for sharing.
