According to what I have read this gun had a safety recall. Do you know if it has been updated?

While I guarantee you that Rem270 would never knowingly sell something unsafe and/or not want to know if there were an issue - the way to ask that type question is thru PM and not on a classified ad. A classified ad is a place to Buy or Sell.

Kimber I was personally interested in the gun, and certainly didn't mean to offend you or anyone else. I felt like it was a legit question. Wasn't implying anything of the sort. Saw the add, googled the gun. first three things that came up were how awesome a gun it was, but make sure it has been sent back because it accidentally discharges. Thanks for correcting me.

This is the only recall on it. not being able to unload it with the safety on. Browning Abolts are like this too. if it was a firing issue like the model 700's had i would be pulling off for sale right now but dont see this as a major problem and if someone seen it as a major problem remington will fix it for free.
Thanks for the info Kimber!!

Wasn't a problem with the 700s either unless someone adjusted the trigger too low, which can be said for many rifles with adjustable triggers. Remington just did that for damage control. There was a video that further researched the MSNBC special on Remington. Most of that episode had no leg to stand on.
Bump for a sweet rig!!

That wasn't really a recall as much as a CYA event. That bolt lock latch works just fine if you can keep your finger off the trigger while unloading it. I actually like the latch better, I have gotten to my stand in the dark many times after walking through the woods and found my bolt half open from grabbing brush along the way.
Nice rifle.

Big dittos on preferring the bolt locking wing on the safety lever of older 700s. I prefer the 3 position safety of the m70 and m77 which is the best of all systems. Bump for a handy little rifle.
