Broke my sons Savage edge rifle stock!! In HALF!!! Boyds dont carry a stock for it and Savage wants 142 bucks for the piece of shat!! Anyone got any ideas?????? Than ks Big J

From what I have been reading across the net, you are not the first/only owner with a similar problem/issue.
#1 complaint on that rifle......................STOCK.
Only replacement avail. as of now...................OEM, no better than the original, sorry to say.

Mauser is a mauser...tube with a recoil tang. Not much different than a mosin/mauser with a cross bolt recoil lug. Where did it break? At the wrist?

Looks like the stock was made to break at the wrist to me, poor design IMO. Really sucks that Savage won't help you out, especially if its a known problem.

Check out Richards Microfit. Man they are slow but I like their work. They claim to do anything...but be prepared, that price for a stock is maybe 50 bucks more than aftermarket.
I happen to own a Savage Axis. The trigger is, well, it sucks. I am gonna cut on the spring and if it goes bad, an aftermarket one, I think they are running around 90 bucks.
