The SEC has been the best forever. The BCS is still wrong though. The new format they develop will help the SEC even more. Before the streak started the SEC was still the best, just not given the chance because they would lose one or two each ear because you have to play up every week. It is easy for the others to be undefeated because they do not have to play up every week. Nothing will ever change my mind on this. (Unless I had a son play for ND or something haha.)

Next year will tell the tale. Four team playoff. Too bad it wasn't this year. Just think how mad some people would be with 3 of the final 4 teams being from the SEC. Now that would have been something to see.

The way I see it-a 4 team playoff is possibly going to screw a couple of SEC teams every year.

What teams has the most NCAA violations and punishment,,,,,,Alabama (SEC).
I believe that is actually SMU. Currently, USC and Miami Hurricanes are on the NCAA watch-list. Whether Saban's recruiting is ethical or not remains to be seen.

SEC is the top. Bama and ND in the NC. Bama will win it. ND IMO hasn't played the competition that Bama has. GA is over-rated, Florida should have beat them, heck we had 2 chances to tie them.

Notre Dame doesn't have to have a set to stay independent, just money. They may have shot themselves in the foot this year by affiliating with the ACC. They're gonna play four or five games annually with the ACC. Given the recent history of ACC football, there are few teams in the ACC that can help strength of schedule rankings. Might not be exactly what they were thinking of when they signed that deal.

It would have been awesome for SEC recruiting. It can happen just as easily next year.

It's easy for ND to be independent when NBC pays them millions. No need to join a conference. Tell me a team that wouldn't take that gig. It's all about winning, recruiting and winning these days. There's not an SEC school that wouldn't do it if offered. Again! They have had the kahonas to stand up to the machine(Big10,Big12,PAC12 etc) and showed it is possible to remain independent! I have never pulled for them in sports but I respect them for standing alone.
I say they join a conference by the time we begin the Playoff system. They have a sweet deal right now, but I do think they took notice this year when Oregon jumped them despite a win. They could have easily been left our if OR and K State didn't lose. Even if only one of them lost and Alabama beat the crap out of the SEC East champion the SEC team was projected to jump ND. Notre Dame will need a conference championship game to have any shot of playing in the NC game come playoff time.
