Heck I think anytime a youth can harvest a deer, especially if he is hunting alone... I say have at it!

At long distances it can be hard to tell sometimes.
and sometimes at short distances too. i shot one during bow that passed me at 4 yds and never saw the knots until i walked up on it dead.
