What a great morning.
Got up, was going to load the ATV and the throttle cable was frozen.

I moved it out of the way and got ATV #2 and went hunting.

I was cover up with deer from the minute I got in my tree. Popped 2, never got a clean shot at #3. Deer #4 & 5 stayed low where I don't/won't shoot 'em.

Deer #6 was dead in her tracks but the bright morning sun put a glare on my scope so bad I could not see to shoot.

Got down, loaded my deer and then I saw it.

the "V" bracket on my summit has broken away from the main frame.

I'm not sure it's safe to climb with and I cannot weld aluminum.

Two does are home and i'm grounded

Aluminum can be tricky to weld for sure.... May be time for a new stand \:\)

I know but Summit doesn't make this stand any more and I LOVE it. I had planned to keep this one as long as I could. Guess I now how long that was now \:\(

I'm going to contact them but I'm hesitant to do so because this stand is 12 years old.

Summit has excellent customer service and they stand behind their products. But I kind of feel like I'm taking advantage of them if I expect them to repair or replace a 12 year old stand. I've more than gotten my money's worth.

I'd go out right now and just by another one just like it if they were available.

Did it break at the weld or has the aluminum flexed and become stressed/weak?

Id try summit, they may not be able to fix it for free, but maybe for a small price, that would be better than trying to find another one you might like. anything is worth a try! and def dont try and use it!! if you fall and hurt yourself, and live through it Diane may kill you!! lol!!

It's a Summit Python. It has a rail but it's more of a footrest attached to the top piece. It's like an open face stand for bow hunting but has a rail that hangs low. I like to put my feet up on it and can sit there all day.

Yep it has a lifetime warranty for a reason, and if you have it welded yourself you void the warranty. If you void the warranty and something goes real bad that extremely high price insurance that summit pays will do you no good whatsoever. If you give it to someone you have a lawsuit on your hands. Have summit fix it or buy a new one, if you look hard you may be able to find a store that has a few in stock

I'm just glad you were lucky enough to climb down . To have the stand break while you were climbing or while you were in the air could have been REAL bad luck.

Call Summit TODAY. Excellent customer service.

I have a stand you can borrow. Not a summit, not very comfortable but its safe and its a stand. Has an open front too.

Hey!!! I didn't know you could just buy the top or bottom.

What I really need is just the platform. I'll have to look and see if I can just buy a platform.

That would be awesome!!!!

Hey CL. u should be able to get somebody to fix that weld for ya. Try a race car fab shop, bike shop or a lawn mower shop. Any good welder can weld aluminum if he has the right welder.
