Hey y'all. Looking into getting a boost on my little CB. Wondering if anyone has experience with models, brands, etc..etc..

Plus, I really don't know much at this so any advice would be great!

Anything over a 250 and you are talking further than you can hear... Unless you're talking to a base station. Main thing with installing a linear is making sure your SWR is correct and everything is grounded correctly.

If you buy used get it from a shop or someone who at least can show you it works. No more than 4 watt input from your cb unless it's a high drive unit.

Palomar, Texas Star, Dave Made and Grey are some good units. You should be able to pick up a Palomar for $150 or less for a 250 watt unit new. There are several cb forums where you can get info and units. There are tons of hand made units out there today that are good units... But usually cost a little more.
