My youngest(14) is out behind the house on Our property hunting for the first time by himself. He is only hunting with his bow, and I've taught him to be a respectful and safe Hunter, but I'm worried about the other hunters out there.

i know exactly how u feel.my 14 year old has been hunting for years by himself and even when i do go and im in another stand and i hear him shoot a million things run thru your mind.i always text him right after the shot and if he dont text right back im out of the stand and on the way to him.lol.i bought him a light that clips on to the bill of his hat and told him to use it in the morning walking to his stand and in the afternnon when it gets dark.i dont want someone with a itchy finger to think he is a deer to many accidents happen and i dont want it to happen to him.

Rockhound, I was hunting alone at 11 also, but back when I was 11 there wasn't as many hunters and it was a different era, we were taught differently. Some parents don't teach their kids to hunt responsibly and proper gun safety when in the field. I'm not concerned about his knowledge regarding being in the woods, I'm worried about the other hunters.

It's tough, to say the least.. I still worry when my 17 yr old leaves with a bunch of boys his age and their shotguns.. Most of the boys were introduced to guns EARLY like mine but there are always 1 or 2 that have not been - those being the ones that make me worry...

Even if he's Bow hunting on your land I hope he has some kind of orange on. It's gun season and you never know what someone else is going to do.

14? I was hunting by my lonesome at 11
i got my first 22 rifle at 7 and was squirrel hunting the hige block of woods behind my parents parents farm by myself at 8. and man i hunted every morning i was not in school when squirrel season was open
