got a bit on my face and neck, I knew it would, but that persimmon tree was pre-chosen to climb due to being the most open shooting area in a narrow funnel, and I didn't know about the small vine on it until I went to put the climber on. This was when I hunted on t-day morning and saw 2 deer across the creek on another property. Actually the doe came into the water and I thought she would cross to me but no, they left. Well don't overlook those dormant PI vines. they still have the urushiol (oil) so you can get a rash year round. I don't get a bad rash ever, but for those who do, check the tree before climbing. vines with dark hairs... I hate em, sometimes the perfect tree to put a stand on has a big 2" hairy vine with 5 foot branches.
Oh well now to hit the WMA in the morning, I shouldn't still be typing, heading to bed now. Maybe I will see something to poke a bullet into, maybe I will find a new spot to sit next time. If I shoot one, it will have to be a fawn, an old doe, an old buck or a big racked buck, or a yote or something like that. I want either an old impressive deer or an easy drag. lol. 1 buck tag remaining and 4 doe tags filled this year so I won't shoot as much as I did earlier in the season. Plus I have to get home and freeze the remaining meat from last weekend's deer.

A nasty gift for late season hunting! I've avoided trees with the hairy vine.

I have had the same thing happen to me before except worse. I climbed a tree one warm December evening and it too had a vine on it, didnt think much about it. When I got to my height I pulled it loose from the tree bare handed since it would have dug into my back while I sat. Well wouldnt you know it, I had to pee.....did my buisness and about 2 days later I was rashed out in full effect all over my junk!!!! So it could always be worse for ya Catman!!
