Dude, I'm so sorry to hear that. I feel like I have been screwed too, after all the advise I gave you on the stock. If they can't fix it, send me an e-mail and maybe we can get her fixed up. Sorry again man. Rich...

This was the beautiful stock you just had finished on the earlier post?
Gosh, I'd be upset if I scratched it myself while hunting, but I'd be livid if my smith did that to the gun.
I'd like an explanation from him as well if he wants any future business. Good grief, it was just a trigger job! YEP VERY Unprofessional!

At least their "trying" to make it right. They would never get my business again, and I would let every major shooter I know that they damaged my "extremely hard to find" rifle.

Sorry to hear that! I know the feeling I just got my model 7 back from Kampfeld Customs looks beautiful, then I bought the zeiss 3x9 on sale from cabelas. Took it to the range shooting for the first time a guy beside me at the bench is shooting a semi auto .308 L1A1 throwing brass all over me the scope and all. Long story short the necking on the empty casing hit my scope perferctly leaving indentions and 2 tiny scratches! I was peed but hey if thats the worst that happens to it I can accept it I guess

Curious to know if they explained to you what had happened to cause that amount of damage? They didn't explain to me how or why it happened. They were actually shocked and dumbfounded when I brought it to their attention. They were tripping over their tongues trying to give me an explanation. They did however tell me that I would be getting a brand new scope (the other scope was brand spankin new as well) and they would fix the scratches. They don't know this yet but I'm not going to pay for the trigger job. I for one will not ever bring any of my guns to them for any smith work and will never recommend their services.
I would be very hesitant to allow them to attempt to repair the stock.............who knows what they could screw up with that job. Sounds to me that someone leaned the gun up against something and it fell over, or worse yet............dropped it.

LOL. I just assumed it was your new .260. Didn't even look at the date.
