I have lost two hunting spots around Percy priest this week due to illegal activity. First was a suspected meth lab that I am waiting to get cleared. Went to my back up spot today an someone has poured corn out everywhere. So now I have to wait for the Twra to do a clean up and stay out for 10 days after. Wish people could just obey the law. Guess I will be doing some walking tomorrow to find a new area.

I think between all that and the sword fighters I would find somewhere else to hunt!

Yes that is sad. In my opinion, I wish the state would do away with the anti-baiting laws just because of this issue but I know it probably will never happen because of state politics. I was raised and still hunt in Arkansas where corn and rice bran are used in large quantities year around since 1994. As far as I know there has never been a case of disease related to the use of such feed in Arkansas. I personally like to use the corn and rice bran to keep the does in the area so when the bucks are cruising or the rut is in full swing I will increase my chances of seeing a good buck. There is a state wide 3 points on 1 side rule in Arkansas so we also use corn by scattering it down the center of our long distance lanes to stop a buck long enough to count the points. I personally have never killed a good buck on a pile of corn. They usually come to the corn or rice bran to eat at night per trail camera. The bottom line is the corn and rice bran keep the deer in my area. I wish Tennessee would go to a 3 point rule but again I know it will never happen here. Since it has been established, we have seen drastic improvement in the quality of bucks taken. I usually take one good buck in Arkansas every year and let several smaller legal bucks walk.
