My guess is Charlie Strong, Al Golden, or Dan Mullen. Gruden is the sexy pick but has never recruited a day in his life as far as I know but I've been wrong before.

Just watching him on tv with rookies coming to nfl, seems that recruiting would a natural for him.

I don't understand this Gruden thing at all. It's been 20 years since he coached in the college ranks and never as a head coach. I'm not a UT fan, but I do hope they can get someone decent with a proven track record.
Like I said earlier, Jim Tressell is the guy I would go after. He had some issues at Ohio State but he's a winner.

Don't laugh me off the site for this but...a friend of mine works at the Mcghee Tyson airport and he shook hands with the 'Ole Ball Coach two weeks ago while at work. Why would he be in Knoxville during the week, during football season? I know it will never happen, but that would be awesome!!!

Maybe because he is from here, and was probably visiting family.

I know he's from here, but I would think he would be with his team during a game week unless there was some kind of family emergency. I would think just visiting would be done before and after the season.

College football is 50 percent coaching and 50 percent recruiting.A coach that will recruit in the top ten usually will be in the top ten. With that being said,Imagine being 17 years old and Gruden the superbowl champ in your living room.I think he will be in the top 3 recruiting every year plus Chuckie is a defensive mastermind. If he gets a good staff the sky is the limit.Fulmer wasnt the best coach but had a good staff and was a top notch recruiter with some classes breaking an NFL draft record.
