Savage Smokeless ML-II. Furthermore, I would rather spend my money to buy a ML-II as have one of the other companies GIVE me one of their smoke poles. For real. Yes, it really is that much better, at least in my eyes it is. (as well as MANY others, many of whom posted above). Best of luck with your decision.

I shoot both smokers (BH209) and smokeless (Remington conversion) and I like both at times. I can tell you there is not a smoker out there that can hang anywhere close to a .45 smokeless conversion. Not bashing what anyone shoots, just a ballistics fact.

Had my savage ML-ll for 3 yrs and I love it. Also got an omega that I had before the savage but there is no way I would go back to it.

I would recommend a savage ml2, but with a smokeless conversion .45, you can shoot a .45 bullet at 3000+fps and doesnt have half the recoil. If price wasn't an option and you had a few weeks for work to be done on it, thats the way to go.
I have an Encore Prohunter right now but plan on taking the smokeless plunge this spring w/ a 45/70 conversion.
