I have a friend that is being deployed on Dec 20th. She is wanting to go hunting before she heads out.

I know a type 94 is needed for most people, does that apply for active military?

Thanks in advance

Yes, they are required to have the Type 94 permit to participate in any of the Special Season hunts.

They don't have to buy any LICENSES, but they do have to have any needed PERMITS. Same as it has always been.

He does not need any LICENSES. His leave papers covers them.

He does need a type 94 for the Special Season hunts or WMAS.

It is the hunter/fisherman's responsibility to know what licenses are needed and not the license agent. They only need to be able to sell the requested license/permit.

Noone should ever rely on a license agent to know the law regarding licenses.

SCN is right. All I needed was to have my leave papers with me when I hunted in 2003,2004 and 2007 and type 94 for does.
