It's probably just scar tissue from an old injury. Who knows?

I think they are lymph nodes. I always remove them when i separate the the different muscle masses.

Appears to me to be hemal nodes. They are common in deer and cause nor represent any harm. They are usually found in other areas of the body but this is not an unlikely area. Hard to tell by the pictures but that's my guess.
