What kind did you get Bow. I got an Ameristep backstrap. I almost bought it last month in Georgia but changed my mind. I found it on sale Monday for $50 less and it had a free chair and shooting stick. I am tickled with it. There is room for two people or my big butt and a heater and anything else I can haul. You men don't know how good you have it. I DO...! We don't look as funny takin' a leak off the stand as you would!!!! LOL True that! Proper positioning and balance takes practice, too. Bow, if you got the little 3 cornered stool with it, take a folding chair with you instead. You can't sit on those things. Try it for about 10 mins and you will see what I mean.
That's funny. I got a free 3 legged chair with mine. I bought another chair for my daughter. I still forget to throw those things in the trash can. Sat on one today for a total of about 4 hours. Not a good feeling. She hates it to.

I got it at Academy in Knoxville. The stool is a 3-legged but it is the one for a big butt and has a backrest just like the one I've been using for years. This one is actually pretty comfy.:)

One other thing I want to mention about using a ground blind. While you are wearing your blaze orange, the blind isn't.
There is no requiremnt for it, but I like to hang some orange over my blind so that others are aware that I'm in there. I use a bandana that I bought at Bass Pro (?) for a couple of bucks. With a couple of clothes pins I hang that on a nearby limb. At least I've done something to help protect myself from the trigger happy folks.
I think that there are orange caps that can be purchased to fit some blinds. One of those lightweight cheap-o vests from Wal-Mart also works.
Just wanted to mention that in the interest of safety. Go have fun. You really will enjoy hunting from a blind. And Happy TG.

I have hunted in ground blinds so,e the last two seasons and enjoy it.....I have noticed that deer seem to acknowledge it's presence and if possible you may want to brush it as well as possible....
Normally mine go up a month prior to bow season, but this year I don't have any up for various reasons...
good luck.

Good luck w/ the blind, but very good advice about putting some orange on it for safety reasons.

I did think of that because of another thread on here a while back. I have a blaze orange packpack cover I will be using. I wish I could set it up and leave it but it would get stolen and I would want to shoot someone.
