I know the older ones were hit or miss.I've shot a few of my friends DPMS rifles (3 Sportical and 1 SASS).The SASS was the best of the bunch (but more expensive also)The Sporticals were so-so,horrible triggers on 2 of them,accuracy was fair at best,but good enough to kill deer with.I was thinking of getting one until I shot my friends.Still going to get a 308 AR it just won't be one of these.YMMV.

They had one at Wal-mart here for $917. Figured you couldn't beat it for the money. Buddy said he didn't like that it didn't have forward assist.

Buddy said he didn't like that it didn't have forward assist.
Lots if not most .308 ARs don't have forward assist.

I have the DPMS LR308AP4. It's an absolute tack driver. It's a tad on the heavy side. I love shooting it out to 300 yds.

last time I was at my older brothers,he was shooting a pieced together rifle that had a 6.5 Creedmore upper and it is nasty wicked,,

I've never used the foward assist on the M4 that the Army lets me use, it is not needed. Unless you never clean your weapon.
