I have killed hot does and more times than not had a buck that was right on her heels take off only to come right back to her where she lay on the ground. I have had it work the other way around as well. Many times a buck will fall in on a hot doe's trail and won't show up for several minutes after you've had the opportunity to shoot her. The question is....can you tell a hot doe when you see one that's alone or even with other does ?

Wouldnt reducing the does in estrous by killing them affect bucks seen in an area?

I am waiting until mid-December. Of course then I probablly won't see any does...

The fewer does in estrus at one time, the more competition between bucks for those few estrus does. The more competition between bucks, the more they have to move during daylight.
