I have only ever deer hunted with one since starting hunting a couple years ago (excluding bow hunting).
Last year I killed my first deer ever, a 5 pt, with a borrowed Marlin 30-30. This year, I bought my own and kilt a doe on opening morning with it, and will kill many more with it.

Never owned one but think about them often. As someone mentioned i bet the 30/30 has been the demise of many TN deer.

I am in the process of refinishing a Marlin 336 30/30. It was in pretty bad shape. Rusty and stock/forearm painted black. Hope to use it next year.
