a stainless barrel reflects no more than a shiny blued barrel. the bluing on my winchester 270 is much more reflective than any of my stainless guns. nickel is another thing all together.

The nickel barrels will definitely reflect more than the matte finish barrels. I agree that the "real" blue ones will reflect too.

I hate stainless barrels! I lightly media blast all of my stainless barrels and actions. The result is very close to the Ruger Target Grey color...no tape to mess with and no place for rust to start.

Cecils barrel came to me with the media blast finish.Even with the bright camera flash the color is still subdued.

I really don't worry about mine. Could also have glare from your glasses, sunglasses, or binoculars sometimes too.
