how many of you still hunt with one? ive be useing 7mm but think im going to try my luck with 30/30 with open sights. Seems deer are always less than a 100yds anyways and i can shoot 2inch groups at that distance

Except for the one time it developed the "Marlin Jam" and I had to sub in a .270, that's all I've ever used. It's not uncommon to drop one dead in its tracks within 100 yards.

unless i hunt the edge of fields i never have saw a shot longer than 50yds or so .. the buck i shot at yesterday at last light was at about 30 FT

buddy killed a nice 10 point with his the other day
i have killed a few before i sold mine
the round killed deer years ago still does today

30/30 has prob killed more deer than any other rifle..my ol 30/30 is over 50 yrs old was passed down from my great grandpa everyone in family has killed their first deer with it..a million dollars wouldn't buy it I'm taking it tomorrow over my mark2 m77 .270..awesome round that a lot of people really underestimate!

With Lever Revolutions, that gun is good for >200 yds. I mounted a Swarovski scope on mine a couple years ago.
