I always say it gets boring catching 12" stocker rainbows with missing fins using corn or trout magnets
but yet I am still in between all the fishermen at least once or twice to fill a stringer. It's fun for a little while each year.
This year will be completely different on the Harpeth, since they have removed the lowhead dam and reconstructed the river bank, adding erosion control and structure for fish habitat in the water. They are still working on it so I wonder how it will be when they stock the trout. I'll be down there to buy some cheap trout magnets in bulk from this old timer who sells all the Leland's Lures gear cheaper than you can buy in stores.

You better not say they add structure on a fishing forum... They add COVER. LOL
I've seen so many people argue over that on one forum if I open a thread and they are fighting I close it right away.

I fish the Caney frequently for trout and eat what I catch. I usually throw the obvious recent stockers back. I'll eat the ones that have been there for a while and been eating their natural diet for a while rather than those chemical pellets being fed to them at the hatchery. Regardless, this is a great way to get a kid into fishing. Tie on a trout magnet on some 2lb test and that kid will catch trout all day.

Well, the bed rock structures are more like a feature of the river bottom but they took some of the old submerged trees from behind the dam and used the stumps for cover too. Opened up more bank access too. More room for the Mexican water bottle fishermen to cast too!
