i shot a buck this morning and had to track him a long ways and i had gotten about a 100 feet from my stand when this lop eared doe come charging off the hill toward me
she saw me when she was about 50 feet away and stopped
now heres where the odd part starts
she stood there looking at me for a second and then starts walking toward me and stops about 20 feet away
i'm standing there thinking is something wrong with this deer
so we both stand there a while and i'm getting hungry and needed to keep looking for my buck so i keep on tracking while keeping an eye on her and she stays with me 20-30 feet back
i get to a point where the buck doubled back on me so i trailed him back the other way down the bottom and she's still with me
she stay with me for about an hour and finally after crossing a hill she goes on her way
now i have been seeing this same doe for over 3 years (i know its the same one because the ear that hangs down has a big hole in it) so it wasn't a matter of a young deer being curious
i saw her a week or so ago and she had a small fawn with her and i'm wondering if its because i got to close to the fawn
i didn't see a fawn this morning
i've had deer come up to me to check me out before but never had one follow me around like that
she looked to be in good shape
i waved my hand at her to see if she would spook and even got to talking to her and it didn't faze her
she must have been around people before
