If I saw a good buck, I would be back in there the first time the wind was right.

Any time I spook a deer (buck or doe) as long as I know they did not wind me, I toss them a few doe bleats. Some times I have had them calm down and wonder back some times not but, most of the one's that don't at least slow down and act a little more calm. Unless he scented you, he really just knows something wasn't right, he don't know it was someone trying to put an end to his day!

Mature bucks do not live as long as they do by being stupid and repeating mistakes. I would give it a few days and take a climber and set up in a different location since he caught your wind. Human scent is a predator clue and he will remember your location. Many times the big ones are not seen again.

Too many variables. That may have been the first and only time he has ever been there in the first place. This time of yeat anything goes. If a hot doe he is chasing comes through I guarantee he will come back.
