After gutting a deer I killed I cut the stomach open to see what it had been eating. Some acorns but it was slap full of these. At first I thought it was unripe persimmons but it is nothing like them. The fruit is hard like an apple with small red seeds. They look like tiny apples to me but I have never seen these before. Any body know what this fruit is?

yeah maybe crab apples, otherwise I have no idea. Unless, it is that type of pear like a bradford except with the quarter-sized fruit. Can't remember the name of that.

yep. Crab Apples...That one is what old timers refer to as "Golden hornets".
There is probably an old homeplace somewhere near where you were hunting, as many people used them for decorative type trees around their homes back in the 1800's.
