I am on a long term search for a Rem 788 44mag and a 40x 22lr. I don't have the cash today but hope to save up enough to be ready when I stumble across them. If you run across one sometime please think of me.

Well I sold my Rem 788 308 today for 250, but it is not 44 mag

788's are getting hard to find, I used to have one in 222rem, wished Id never sold it.

is that like sportsman 788, dull finish.If so I have one in a 243,the kids grew up hunting with it!

I see the occasional 788 in 44 mag at some local gunshows.Next time I run into one I will try to remember to get there contact info for you.

Sportsman 78 is a totally different horse than the 788. Sportsman is an early no-frills version of the 700.
