T/C Venture 280 with Leupold Vari-X III 3.5->10x40, 140 Nosler Accubond, R-P nickel plated Brass, 52 grains of IMR4350, Fed 210M primer, 3.360 COL. This 6 rounds at 100 yards at MSSA a few weeks ago. First shot was left, adjust, shot, adjust, final 3 are dead center, 15 year old son loaded the round and shot it.
I kinda like it.

If you handload it's a great round. If you plan on buying ammo off the shelf they can be hard to find and pricey. Personally I'll stick with a 270. To each his own though.

Absolutely, if you do not handload better prepare to stock up when/if you see 280 ammo available. And there is nuttin wrong with a 270. The 280 was originally the 7mm Express and it died fast. Why they call it a 280, it shoots 284 bullets, is marketing. But is is deadly accurate. FYI, it shot core-lokts pretty good.
Actually Guys, my 15-year old Son shot that group, and adjusted the scope with me looking on. He also does his own hand loads.

Oh i love my 270 but i love guns and I'm a gun nut so ill have to add the 280 to the collection. I've heard about the bullets ill probably buy in bulk and then reload some of my own also. I am pretty excited about it

Cant go wrong with the .280 as it is my favorite round. I also have the Remington CDL .280, it is a 1/2 moa rifle and the combination is outstanding. I shoot the Federal premium 140gr Ballistic Tip in factory ammo which shoots 1/2moa so I really didn't have a need to reload. I started reloading for it a few years back with the barnes bullets and they also shoot outstanding. Actually they shoot at the same POI as the 140BT do out to 300yrds as I'm sure it does change out to 500 yrds. When I'm hunting some fields this is the combination that I use.

Yeah we can have some super long shots at our farm so it'll be one of those long distance guns but mainly just a fun shooting gun.
