Just have to get something off my chest.
This past year our neighbors have been pretty cool but now deer season is here the wife is complaining about every time she walks outside i'm cleaning deer under my car port.
"I live in Hendersonville"
I have a car port behind my house and i'm on a corner lot. I am watching my friends dogs until he gets a place he can take his dogs too. So I have 2 5'x10' kennels in my fenced in back yard.
My neighbor came outside yelling because her 2 dogs were at the fence going nuts at my dogs. So she texts my wife last night and says "We need to talk tomorrow"
Then she texts my wife this morning and complained about she seen a deer carcass under my car port this morning and it made her sick.
To make things worse is my wife is taking our neighbors side of it!
I told my wife we processed 4 deer this weekend and got a deer last night at night fall. Normally I process the deer and haul it off the next day.
I'm extremely frustrated at my neighbors at this point.
They rent the house and I told my wife if they don't like it they can move for all I care.
I'm not going to stop processing my own deer because my neighbor doesn't like seeing a deer carcass.
I was nice enough last night too go ahead and hang a tarp on my car port that helps block the deer carcass and she's still complaining.
Just had to get that off my chest.
"It's not like I leave carcasses for days and they smell" I normally haul them off within a day after I process them.

i don't see that you've done anything wrong. at least you said you hung up a tarp. sounds like the neighbors need to mind their own business.

its your house, do what u want. if my neighbors ever complain ide put the deer carcus's next to my property line and let them rot.

Sounds like you need to move your deer processing to the driveway.....hang in there, maybe they'll move.

haha if she keeps complaining I might need to do that lol.
What has really set me off is when I went outside to discipline my dogs for barking at the fence she came outside yelled "Kevin you HAVE to get those dogs away from the fence!" Talking about the 2 kennels I have in my yard with my friends dogs.
Then she started adding to my frustration by complaining about the deer.
UGHH neighbors can irritate me.

If you hang a tarp, what else can they complain about? Unless they are vegan, then they should not have a philosophical problem with it. It would be different if you were flaunting it, but you're not, you are simply butchering meat. Just have a a very polite conversation with her and explain that you butchering meat so that you can feed your family, you're not doing it just to be a redneck, or to rub it in anyone's face; You're butchering a deer because you hunted and killed it, need a place to butcher it and the carport on your property is the logical place to do it. End of story.

What I don't understand is she told my wife "Jon (my neighbors husband)used to hunt and he took it to a processor so other people didn't have to see a dead deer!, it's polite and courteous to neighbors so they can come home and not see that stuff"
The husband is perfectly fine with the deer and he'll come over while i'm processing it and talk.
Just the wife is being a pain!

If that didn't work, I would explain things in a different tone. Feel for you brother, another reason I live in the country. She would really hate me, dogs, cats, horses, chickens and a rooster that crows at 3am.......lol
