Went to a buddys van buren co property today, started out not seeing a deer and while walking towards the truck about 830 I jumped this guy and his lil girlfriend. He stopped 50 yards and looked at me that was all I needed I thought he was decent, scoped him and ofcourse its on 9 power, this sux quartering away touch one off towards the back of the ribs. Tail up hops a few times stops for another look, PISS did I miss? Got another shell (scope still on 9 power and he is at 50-60 yards) Boom he runs off tail down. EFB comes to me asking if I got him I said uh, ah, hmmmm, is like to think so. He was at his ears but is a 2.5 yr old. We commit to cross the fence and look for blood and none what so ever. The cows gather around us and we hear something in the brush, it was him still alive but way out of it head wobblin etc etc he couldn't get up, ended up easing around to finish him with a shot to the heart and thay wrapped it up. Only 2 holes in him obviously the last shot counted so u do the math, I shot my rifle this evening and was shooting 5" high at 100 so at 50 again u do the math,(I HATE MATH) got her dialed back in, dunno what happened but I was tickled with him considering he was bigger than I thought once I got to him!
