I thought of this after reading the east tn rut thread. I have two areas that are within 10 miles of each other. Two weeks ago I started getting mid day picks of different bucks, several were mature bucks. The pics were taken around 12:00 to 2:00 pm. This happened on both places, but now those mid day pics have vanished. I know they were checking for does, but I havent seen chasing and have seen several big grpups of does with no bucks in sight. What would this tell you? If you start getting mid day picks and then they go away, but no chasing is happening, what does this mean phase wise. Both areas have lots of old does as well as young does so I figure one or two would be in heat. What do you guys make of this?

There prolly are a few does in heat and that's where your mature bucks are. In lockdown in thick cover.
