Help Needed on river boat

trying to decide on a sit on top kayak or one that has the two pontoons and seat in between, will use it on river while no generating is going on, would like feedback on either one from people that has either of the two. thanks

I like my sit on top. I don't have to worry about inflating pontoons before hand or after they have been in the cold water. I can also use it with 1 generator running, and still paddle upstream against the current. It has a very shallow draft, and I have plenty of room for everything I need.
One thing I was told by a member here that uses a pontoon was that the frame WILL break, just plan on having the welds re done at some point.
It takes me about 2 minutes to unload and get into the water too.

I used a SOT kayak for years on the Caney. It was good for transportation, but was tough to actually fish from because it kept turning in the current. If you want to fish from it a lot, get a rudder.
I ended up getting a Gheenoe and it is much better than the kayak for fishing. But I'm an overweight old guy with a bad back.
