It is ON! in Morgan County. They were chasing yesterday. what part? Im hunting northern morgan, and hunting 3 different property, and haven't seen any chaseing, found 2 scrapes on 1 property and nothing on the other 2.Seen 2 spikes and 2 does yesterday morning and it was business as usual.Seen 4 does this morning with their fawns in tow.. Im hunting Morgan also and havent seen sh!t for rut activity
Around wartburg we have had active scrapes for over two weeks now. My brother in law killed a buck last week chasing a doe, another friend killed an 11 point yesterday on the trail of a doe. He missed the first shot, and the buck would not leave the doe. Killed it on the second shot. I came out of the woods yesterday into a clear cut and had a buck chasing a doe 50 yards away into and out of the clear cut. Several bucks that have been killed in the last two weeks have had blown tarsals and the necks are fully swollen.

I shot a 7 point yesterday. He was with does and was doing some chasing. It is always the best in Claiborne county in December.

I have two places to hunt, one is in bradley county and one is in hamilton county. The bradley county place has a lot of rubs and not a whole lot of scrapes, but the ones that are there are big (3-4 ft around). I hunted yesterday morning on the ground by a bedding area, I had 8 does walk by me at 10 feet. I was down wind and they looked at me and just kept on rollin. Not a buck in site. About two weeks ago I started getting mid day pick of several shooter bucks, but that has gone away. Not sure what that means, but when you have that many does come by and not a buck in the group, I couldnt believe it. On the other hand Hamilton county area, the deer sign was non existent. But about two weeks ago I started getting new bucks and mid day picks of them. That has now went away there also. Tonight my wife and I went to hamilton county to ease the hunting pressure from the bradley county area and saw a small buck more like nagging then chasing, but he was running here a little bit. Last year Hamilton county was hot the second week of november. Bucks were chasing hard, but this year there is hardly any movement at all.

The 10 pt i shot yesterday in loudon county was in full rut.. He was moving along a ridge with his nose to the wind looking for a doe that had passed a few min before. His tarsal glands were dripping

So it sounds like southern east tn it is on, and in northern east tn it isn't? Is that a reasonable conclusion to draw.
