So I live and hunt in smith county,tn and jackson county,tn has anyone noticed any real big rut activity, cause I shot a spike who was more curious than dominant acting, and havent seen hardly any bucks at night chasing does on way home like I usually do this time of year, and I havent seen any does with there tails up half the time flaunting around there goods, lol just wanted to hear some thoughts on this from some of yall especially those hunting these same counties I am,cause the wood and field layouts are of the same for the most part, thanks look forward to your comments

I have hunted the area you describe for about 7 years. I have found that most of our good bucks have been killed from around the 2nd week of Nov through the 1st of Dec. I have not been able to hunt as much this year but I did go last weekend and the activity was low as far as chasing etc goes. Look for this coming week especially the days right around Thanksgiving for things to peak. These are just my observations from hunting my farm but maybe the info will help some. Regardless I'm sure we will still be in a tree in the coming days!! Lord willing.

STICKLE,

I hunt over in the riddleton area. So far I havent seen much. Spike running doe but no mature deer our running much.

I seen a small 1.5 on the prowl yesterday at 6:05. Later a younger doe and spike trailing her.

Then a group of 9 doe came in behind me. They have been grouped together all season. I am hoping some some better action soon.

I KNOW THERES TO MANY BABY BUCKS AND WAY TO MANY DOE'S I think im gonna start just taking does out from here on out,and let them little ones grow up,if we all did that in unit L We would have better buck quality in next few years,I MEAN WHEN THE BAG LIMIT is 3 does a day,the buck and doe ratio is sad,so overall i probably should of let that spike pass, but when they get that close and your fingers itching, its hard to not squeeze the trigger

I'm seeing spikes and Fork horns if I see anything at all.

Ain't seen a good doe in over a week and I'm hunting every morning and never the same place.

It's a tough season.

well i can say tonight on the way home from gallatin,to pleasant shade where i live,I FINALLY saw about five actual nice shooter bucks and two of them were following right behind a doe, seperate locations of course, one being beside the infamous tva property in hearstville off hwy 25 beside power plant where hundreds of deer run free from us,lol and the other in riddleton before peyton creek road,so IM hoping this weekend or next five days turns out good for us good ol boys and kill tags, good luck to all
